Leaving on a Jet Plane.....

Early alarm. It’s dark outside, but no snooze for me. I’m heading to Central America on a mission trip. Bags are packed and my comfy airplane outfit is patiently waiting on my dresser. Time for a quick cup of coffee before my carpool companions arrive.

Smooth sailing. That’s because the address is already pulled up on Waze and we are leaving before traffic gets bad. I know where I’m parking; the very top level of the International Park-Ride. It’s on the corner of Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Blvd and Loop Road. I can park close to the elevators.

On the bus. The smell of the airport already seems foreign. So many people zipping around, coming and going from everywhere. Exhilarating!

Checking bags. Not this time, because I am packing all that will fit in my carry on. https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/baggage/before-your-trip.html When I do check bags, I feel strange, like I forgot something. Did I? 😊

In the line. I'm so glad I took the time to get TSA Pre-check. https://www.tsa.gov/precheck To make it easier, they had a mobile office set up in Dacula. I set the appointment on-line. The day I arrived was a breeze as I had all the needed docs. It took 15 minutes. Now I get to go into the fastest security-check line and I don’t have to take off my shoes!

On the tram. Zipping down the tunnels always amuses me; makes me feel like a child again. I listen for concourse E. That’s where I will find my gate.

At the gate. Now I am ahead of schedule, so another cup of coffee and a bagel is in my future. One my bathroom break and me and the crew are ready to board! Can’t wait to serve!
